We have been very happily married since September 1966 and have one daughter, Deirdre, son, Richard, and four young grandchildren. Most of our lives were spent in Africa, Heather since 1953 and Colin since 1963, with only a three year gap when the family was stationed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
We have long held a desire to travel the world and this we have achieved in great measure, having travelled to a great many countries all over the world during our married years. We still have opportunity to travel annually, visiting our daughter and family in England, Heather's family in Ireland, and our son and his family in South Africa.
Being great lovers of animals, Africa has always held us enthralled and we have spent many, many hours in game parks, viewing and enjoying Africa's magnificent heritage of wild animals. This has led to some exciting experiences and "encounters of the closest kind!"
Since our days in Kenya and Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, we have always been involved in our local churches. Later in Malawi we were both brought into leadership positions in our local church in Blantyre. Here, Heather was also involved in helping to set up Christian counselling for sufferers with AIDS.
We have been living in Paphos, Cyprus, since May 2001, having joined the New Testament Community Church in November 2002, when it was three weeks old. Colin is currently a Deacon and Treasurer of the church, and Heather is the Pastoral Team Leader. Most importantly, we both love the Lord Jesus and our desire is to see Him loved and honoured in every way, across this beautiful island of Cyprus, where the Apostle walked and ministered almost two thousand years ago.
